Welcome, this website is run and maintained by the Corfe Castle Chamber of Trade.
The Corfe Castle Chamber of Trade & Commerce
The Chambers’ primary aim is to watch over and promote the interests and trade of the village of Corfe Castle, of traders generally and to take such active measures for the protection and development thereof as may be deemed desirable whilst maintaining the integrity ecology and reputation of the parish.
To this end, we monitor and act upon any matters which affect member traders and the prosperity of the village in general. Examples of such matters are: application of the Uniform Business Rate; traffic and parking; policing; public amenities; promotion of the village. We keep in touch with and receive regular communications from County, District and Parish councils.
The Chambers’ officers and committee are elected and serve voluntarily, carrying out their duties alongside those of running their own businesses. Input from all members is both welcomed and needed. We do urge you to attend members meetings, which are held quarterly. Committee meetings are held once a month and of course, matters for discussion by the Committee can be put forward. The Chamber greatly appreciates volunteers who are prepared to take on a specific project or issue, even if they are unable to spare the time for Committee membership.
Every attempt is made to keep the Chambers’ annual subscription to a minimum, thus encouraging membership whilst recognising trading conditions that may be difficult. The subscription covers the cost of part-time secretarial work, stationery, printing, occasional advertising and donations etc., as well as membership of the Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry, upon whose wide range of experience we can always call.
To find out more about membership, please email contact the Chamber of Trade.
