Lantern Making Workshop
LANTERN MAKING WORKSHOP 12-4
MAGICAL CANDLELIGHT PROCESSION at 16.45pm
The Village used to have a very popular candlelight procession at Halloween which children found magical.
We are now organising a free LANTERN MAKING WORKSHOP and afterwards a CANDLELIGHT PROCESSION.
Children with their parents are invited to drop in at a free lantern-making workshop from 12-4pm at the Arty Bazaar, Boilerhouse Gallery (By Corfe Castle station). Parking is free that Saturday at the West Street Car Park in the village. The lanterns will be lit by an electric light.
Children (accompanied by a responsible adult) with their lantern are invited to gather at the Boilerhouse Gallery at 16.45 pm. The procession will leave at 17.00 cross the railway at the station, go up Station Road, cross the Swanage road by the pelican crossing, walk across the village square and enter the Castle. The procession will have stewards to ensure safe crossing of the roads and railway.
There will be singing of carols as we process.
At the Castle the children are invited to countdown the switch on of the Castle Christmas tree and sing more carols. The Castle will be lit with lights and beacons.
Afterwards the procession will go to the Model Village for some final songs.
Children and their adults are then free to go. The model village is offering great refreshments for those who wish to stay: Soup, pasta, mulled wine or soft drinks for £4.25 a head (booking advisable) or there are great places to eat and drink in the village.
